Onesie maker offers free blankets for charities

A clothing manufacturer is offering to make free blanket for charities as winter approaches.

The All-in-One Company, based in Ashington in Northumberland, has been producing create your own onesies for thousands of customers across the globe since the business started seven years ago.

As a result it has dozens of sacks of material left over after manufacturing. The All-in-One Company already gives away bags of offcuts to schools and craft groups and now founder Kate Dawson and her team say they will come to work in their own time to hand-make blankets.

“We would just encourage charities who work with refugees and the homeless to get in touch,” said Kate.

“Also, charities who look after animals. We can make blankets to suit any size – from horses to hedgehogs.”

Schools and craft groups use offcuts provided by The All-in-One Company to make cuddly toys and proggy mats. Blankets will be made out of bigger pieces of material.

“Just like our onesies they will be warm and colourful,” said Kate. “They’ll help stave off the North East winter and hopefully bring a little bit of comfort and brightness to somebody’s life.

“We’ve got the material and the skills. This was also an idea that’s supported by everybody here. So we’ve got the commitment as well.”

The All-in-One Company was launched in 2008 after Kate could not find suitable sleep suits for her two young children. It soon started making onesies for adults – each one designed through The All-in-One Company website by the customers themselves.

The onesie quickly became the must-have Christmas gift and The All-in-One Company has become a popular partner for advertisers and reality TV shows.
