Navigator steers young people towards careers as artists
Newsmaker is delighted to again be working with Navigator North which helps young people develop their careers as artists.
Participants in the second NICE programme (Next Steps in Creative Experience) took part in the Stockton International Riverside Festival, working with young and old, in a workshop they devised called Boxed.
NICE is unique. It offers practical advice on how to become a professional artist whilst providing invaluable studio space and support from Navigator North directors and professional artists Vicky Holbrough and Nicola Parkin.
The six young people on this year’s programme, for example, will later this month take part in sessions – run by The Prince’s Trust – on how to set up and run a business.
Newsmaker is helping to promote the work of Navigator North and producing a new video about its work.
