Brand reputation requires more than a sticking plaster
More and more organisations provide First Aid training for their employees – and rightly so. Fewer, though, help key members of staff prepare for that day when they might be required to go on radio or television to protect reputations.
There might be an assumption that the boss will do it or, if he or she is not around, the Number Two or Number Three – and if they’re too busy what about that bloke in sales who does a bit of amateur dramatics? Sticking plasters can only do so much to minimise damage, especially when the use of Zoom and Teams means these interviews are not so easy to avoid. An ill-prepared two minutes can seriously damage both a career and a brand.
Over the past decade Newsmaker and 3 Point Media have helped clients avoid this by delivering practical broadcast media training in how to stay on message and avoid own goals. We are delighted to now be working with journalist and broadcaster Charlie Charlton. Judging by the feedback our debut seemed to go very well and we would like to hear from organisations who think we might be able to help.
