Video – sinking of a battleship to create an artificial diving reef

It was also great to be involved in a news story which generated so much coverage in the Portuguese media.

Our client Chemring Energetics UK was commissioned by the provincial government of Madeira to supply a special demolition explosive to be used to sink an old battleship to create an artificial diving reef.

We were given exclusive access to film the team of Portuguese Navy specialists as they prepared the charges on board the ship.  Following the sinking they also retrieved the Go Pro cameras which recorded the dramatic scenes as the explosives were detonated.
