Video for Bring it On! 2019 at The Stadium of Light
A major event is being held this week to encourage young people to explore engineering as their future career.
Bring it On! 2019 takes place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland and will be visited by hundreds of children, aged between 10 and 14, who the organisers hope will be inspired.
One of the biggest supporters of the event is the Reece Foundation and we are very proud to have been asked to produce a video which will be shown at its stand.
Anne Reece, chair of the Reece Foundation, said: “We have been involved in Bring It On since the start as it is exactly what is needed to get the message across that engineering is an industry of the future and offers great job prospects.
“We want to see more young people – and particularly more girls – studying STEM subjects both at school and higher education and getting these good jobs in the North East.
“Our Reece Group engineers will be at Bring it On again this year to give a taste of some of the innovative products the companies manufacture – from life-saving landmine clearance devices to road repair machines.
“And most importantly it’s fun. Through the exciting hands-on activities taking place, we hope this exhibition will ignite that spark of enthusiasm and encourage the youngsters to find out more about the opportunities that studying STEM can offer.”
Reece Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim to promote manufacturing and engineering in the North East, and support education here, particularly relating to engineering, mathematics and physics.
Carol Harrison, Bring It On Programme Manager, said: “Reece Foundation is our most generous supporter for a third consecutive year which is a fantastic kudos for our work and commitment. We all feel extremely honoured and privileged to have received their trust again this year and look forward to revealing the result of our hard work at this year’s event on 9th and 10th October.”
